G-Willz speaks about his music, his inspiration, and the future of his career.

Gregory Willams also known as G-willz”Big GREG son” is a buffalo native. He’s been making music since 2006. Willz made it very clear that music was just hobby for him but as time went on he grew love and passion for it. Even though he took a big break on music just a few weeks ago he released one of his greatest hits “Pray For our city”.

Q. Who is your music inspiration?

A. My first music inspiration is my father who introduced me to many genres of music at very young age. Also Jay z, Aboogie, 2pac, jadakiss just to name a few.

Q. Are you currently working on new projects?

A. Yes I am , lol definitely working on a diss track.

Q. If you had to pick someone from the town to work with who would it be ?

A. Conway, Conway is a big inspiration I watch his growth. It truly amazes me how he beat all the odds and is now heard nationwide.

Q. How do you feel about performing at the 1st annual 716 music award and what do you expect gain out of this experience?

A. Honestly it was very unexpected I haven’t taken it all in yet BUT IM DEFINITELY VERY EXCITED. This is a big deal for our city, this is a big opportunity for our local music.

Let’s talk about your newest hit song “Pray for our city”, We obviously know the inspiration behind it but how do you feel about the impact that is having on our community?

It’s kinda bitter sweet, this tragedy really has me in a hurtful place. We lost some innocent people behind this. The sweet part of this is that I was able to express more than just this situation in my song. Being a black man in this community makes me feel obligated to have a voice for my people. I will continue to speak up on many things that are effecting our community. Hopefully I can make some what of a change through my music. Currently I have 8.2k views on YouTube in just a matter of a week so I definitely know my people are listening.
